Program Overview
A graduate degree program designed for licensed dentists who wish to pursue careers in dental education. The program provides students with advanced knowledge and skills in dental education theory and practice. It covers various areas such as curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, and research methods.
Program Educational Objectives
The Master in Dental Education (MDE) Program aims to produce graduates who:
- Manifest excellent skills and expertise in services called for in the profession;
- Observe the use of environmentally friendly methods and materials;
- Ensure the strict observance of the highest ethical standards that uphold the ideals of the profession;
- Use scientific studies to improve the oral health of the society;
- Advocate community programs to improve the oral health of the society; and
- Exceed the expectations of clients through timely interventions and advice for improved decision-making.
Program Outcomes
A Master in Dental Education graduate should be able to:
- Provide quality oral health care
- Practice legal/ethical/moral principles and social accountability
- Conduct basic and clinical researches
- Plan and deliver community service
- Utilize systems-based approach to healthcare
