General Assembly and Orientation
The General Assembly and Orientation is annually held in the University of Baguio School of Dentistry to gather Dentistry students for orientation, discussion, and consultation with regard to the new updates and guidelines to be implemented for the Academic Year.
It aims to inform, orient, and make dental students aware of the Dental Program, school policies, procedures and guidelines, and learning modes within the school. It also aims to improve and develop a quality education program to produce globally competitive professionals in accordance with the University’s Vision, Mission and Objectives, and Sustainable Developmental Goals.
The General Assembly and Orientation AY 2023-2024 was held last August 12, 2023. Pre-clinical and clinical students were all catered to in the morning, while only the clinical students were present during the afternoon session.
The first years joined through a virtual meeting while the second to sixth years attended the event face-to-face in the UB Gymnasium. Dr. Peter Cating, the UB School of Dentistry Alumni President, also graced the event and gave an inspirational message to the students.
Introduction of New Faculty Members
Representatives from the different University Service Offices were invited for discussion of their services. The updated school policies, procedures, and guidelines were reviewed by the newly appointed Program Chair, Dr. Stephanie Charleine S. Hernandez, to reduce and address student confusion and to address concerns and questions.
The majority of the participants were excellently satisfied with the delivery and organization of the program. A total of 878 students and 27 faculty and staff members attended the whole day activity. It was concluded by the Student Body (SB) Adviser.
